Carl Locher was educated at the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen, the Technical Institute of art in Copenhagen, and the Leon Bonnats School of Art in Paris. Made trips on Frigatts from the West Indies back to London, Madeira, Cherbourg, London, Antwerp, Hamburg, the Faero Islands, Iceland, Greenland, Paris, Normandy and Holland. Received numerous awards and medals throughout Europe. Was the officially commissioned artist to accompany & Paint the Royal Trip to Iceland in 1907. Exhibited in Copenhagen, Paris, Chicago, Berlin, Lubeck, London, Rome, Charlottenborg, Koln, Zurich and Reykjavik.
