Soren Melchior Hansen was one of the early Danish artists to embrace the Impressionistic/Naturalistic movement. His use of broad brush strokes, vibrant color and lighting, make his works almost instantly recognizable. Viewed up close, Hansen’s paintings often look very Impressionistic, however, when viewed from a regular viewing distance they often take on a photographic quality.
