  • 1858-62 - Studied at the Technical School of Art in Arhus under E. Hoegh, Guldberg, and G.F. Hetsch.
  • 1862-67 - Attended The Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen under Janus La Cour and P.C. Skovgaard, whose home he actually lived in for 4 years.
  • 1871-72 - Studied under Vilhem Kyhn at the Hule Academy.
  • 1874-76 - Studied at the Camille Bernier & Leon Bonnat Academie in Paris.
